These beautiful utensil holders are handmade in a family workshop in Alentejo, Portugal, using a craft that has been practised since the Roman times.
Every single gorgeous piece is made on the potter’s wheel by Joaquín, hand-painted and signed by Nélia (who is the 8th generation of painter in her family pottery workshop) and glazed by her husband Bruno.
Each piece is totally handmade. Therefore, it can show some irregularity on its aspect, color and size. There can be a difference of a few millimeters between pieces of the same model. These differences are part of the beauty and authenticity of the traditional pottery. The interior part of the products is not painted and therefore brown as the plain terracotta.
